I'm in LOVE with Peter Pan...collars!

Peter-pan collars seem to be everywhere at the moment in fashion, and I love them! I think they can change an outfit in an instant and makes it really easy to up-date an old top that has been sitting in the back of your wardrobe for ages, and give it a brand new look!
I have quite a few tops and dresses with collars attached but I love the idea of the detachable collar to mix and match with different outfits! You can buy these in most stored on the high street and on-line, or you could even make your own if your feeling crafty!

Love the large peter pan collar

This is so cute

My 2 favourite things - spots and collars!

My mum crocheted this collar for me on one of our newly introduced craft Sundays!

I love the big red button!

I got this as a Christmas gift from ASOS Marketplace!

I bought this collar in my local textiles shop and I just attached a ribbon on the back!

Playing Dress Up!

When I was younger I loved nothing more than getting the dressing up box down and parading round! And I guess I haven't changed. I visited my Nan and Bampa in Swansea earlier this month and ram raided her wardrobe for clothes which I could alter (with her permission obviously!)
She had some gorgeous pieces, and I can't wait to alter them!!

So me and my dad had some fun with the camera photographing a few of the pieces :)

I love this welsh tapestry cape, especially the collar!

Pulling faces at the dog!

Ooooo!

This is my favourite one!! I love the colour

Soo pretty!

Can't wait to alter this one!
 I will keep you posted!!

A life without colour........is very dull!

I have been meaning for awhile now to do a post about colour and after seeing 'The Life of Pi' in cinemas recently I was inspired!
Have any of you seen it? If you haven't - You absolutely have to! And if you have - I think you'll agree that everybody who hasn't seen it has to!
I went to see the film in 3D, and just everything about it blew me away - the imagery, colours, actual story line and actors were just amazing (as you can see I can't rave about it enough!)

On another colour note, I have just found this really cool website called 'Chip It' which allows you to take an image of your own or an image off the internet and turn the colours of the image into a colour palette of Sherwin William's paint colours. I think this is so useful when designing digitally (which I have been trying to dabble in recently - I see a new post coming up!) So have a go it's really fun!!

So combing both The Life of Pi and Chip it, here are a few of my favourite images from the film turned into colour palettes!

For All You Vintage Lovers

Another fantastic find for me yesterday in High Street Arcade - Hubbard's Cupboard.

It is an amazing shop which re uses and re fashions vintage fabrics into vintage style dresses. There are also some drop dead gorgeous wedding dresses showcased in the shop and are all made by hand!
I love the re use recycle motto and am always trying to do this with my own wardrobe (although finding the time is often difficult!) So finding this little wonder was definitely the highlight of my day!

They sell anything and everything vintage all with a fun quirky feel! So if your passing go in and have a look, the shop window display itself will be enough to drag you in!!

Here is the link to their Facebook page also to keep up to date with new products! http://www.facebook.com/hubbardscupboardshop?fref=ts

& thank-you to Hubbard's Cupboard for allowing me to take the pictures shown!

A Little Aladdin's Cave of Buttons

One shop I always mean to go in every time I walk through the Castle Arcade in Cardiff is Claire Grove Buttons. And I finally went in there today and was not disappointed! There are some really amazing buttons in there for any kind of project you are doing, or if you just want to ooh and ahh at all the pretty patterns and colours!
If you are passing pop in and see, I can guarantee you probably won't want to leave in a hurry!
